  3. This was a great article! I have been buying dark roast instead just buying what’s on sale and 2 more Tbps right? I’m getting rid of Keurig machine and buy another percolator ( I killed the other one lol) Knowledge is power!

    You’re spot on that a lighter roast, as in say a medium roast, will definitely be more complex, and depending on the bean, may have several prominent flavors, which you would never notice in any over roasted coffee.

    It drives me nuts when people think that the more burnt the coffee, the stronger it is. When in fact, it’s the opposite which is true. Burnt coffee just tastes burnt. What you’re tasting is the roaster and not the bean.

    And your best point is “Espresso”, which is Italian for “Quick or Fast”. Espresso was invented for the sole purpose make coffee faster. As you say, espresso is not a bean, it is not a roast, and it is not a blend. Espresso is simply a brewing method.
